Amazon famously popularized the finding that for each 100ms of slowdown in their storefront, they’d see a 1% drop in conversion. We’ve found this effect to be far more pronounced with @v0. Speed and reliability have an outsized effect on engagement and conversion. There’re a couple reasons for this. On a high level, AIs are evolving to be our virtual coworkers. Intuitively, we’d all much rather work with coworkers that respond to our @ pings and emails instantly. Coworkers that get back to us reliably and don’t drop the ball. These problems are very real in AI today, which is why I’m so excited about our AI Gateway[1] and investments into reliable streaming[2]. AI can be, conservatively, 10x faster and more reliable than it is today, and this will be a vital part of the race for consumers building the muscle memory in favor of a certain agent, much like it played out for so many of us defaulting to typing amazon dot com.
